In line with the grape harvest season, Air France has unveiled its latest wine and spirits offering allowing La Première and business-class patrons to experience one of the best selections in the sky. Paolo Basso, voted world’s best sommelier in 2013, has personally overseen the selection, along with Bettane and Desseauve, authors of the French Wine Guide. The selection is specially tailored to complement the airplane’s conditions, with note to cabin pressure and air conditioning when selecting varietals. The La Première cabin can enjoy famous champagnes, bordeauxs, and burgundys along with Krug Grande Cuvée or Saint-Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classé Chateau Beau-Sejour Bécot 2008. In business, new wines are highlighted and Paolo Basso’s favorite wines, such as Médoc Château Rollan de By 2009. In economy and premium economy, patrons can sip champagne during the aperitif and fine wines during the meal. Air France boasts that 1.5 million bottles of wine and 800,000 bottles of champagne are served on-board annually.
