AirAsia has opened reservations on a new route between its Kuala Lumpur base and the Chinese city of Kunming. The flight will operate four times per week from December 10 using the carrier’s A320 aircraft, which has a capacity of 180. AirAsia is now the largest foreign airline operating in China

Kunming is the capital of Yunnan province and is a major cultural destination—home to several Yunnanese galleries, and UNESCO-listed sights such as the Naigu Stone Forest and Suogeyi Village. The city also serves as a hub for tourists in moving on to Lijiang, Shangri-La, and Dali City.

The outbound flight AK1008 departs Kuala Lumpur at 1.25 p.m. to arrive in Kunming at 4.55 p.m.

The return flight AK1009 departs Kunming at 5.40 p.m. to arrive back in Kuala Lumpur at 9.10 p.m.
