Cathay Pacific Airways has released details of its new Premium Economy Class, which the airline will progressively introduce on its Boeing 777-300ER long-haul flights from March 2012.
The seats in Premium Economy Class will be wider and feature more legroom (97 centimeters compared to 81 inches in Economy Class) and a greater recline. In addition, the new seats will offer a larger meal table, additional cocktail table, footrest, 10.6-inch television, in-seat power outlet, multi-port connector for personal devices, and extra personal stowage space. To make their flight more comfortable, passengers will be welcomed onboard with juice and champagne and enjoy a wider meal selection. Each passenger will also receive a range of products to make their experience more enjoyable including an environmentally friendly amenity kit and noise-cancelling headset.
Premium Economy Class passengers will also enjoy priority check-in at special counters and priority boarding, as well as an increased baggage allowance from 20 to 25 kilograms.
The new class will initially feature on the Sydney, Toronto, Vancouver, and New York routes, and expand to other long-haul routes in the future.
For those unable to upgrade to Premium Economy Class, the new long-haul Economy Class seat – which will be gradually fitted on all of the airline’s long-haul Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A330-300 aircrafts – will offer more legroom and storage space, as well as an enhanced level of comfort in the recline position, high-resolution touch-screen television, USB outlet and iPod/iPhone outlet.
