Cathay Pacific has reopened its flagship first-class lounge at Hong Kong airport following an extensive two-and-a-half-year renovation. The airline commissioned UK-based Foster + Partners to redesign The Wing, which first opened in 1998. Probably the most noteworthy change is the upgrade to The Haven, the lounge’s dining area, which is now double its original size and offers a new paired à la carte menu, while a new Champagne bar will greet passengers with a welcome drink on arrival. A total of 12 shower suites will be available to passengers prior to departure, and the lounge’s five “cabanas” have been refitted with full-size baths, lots of light, and plenty of timber. The Wing’s first-class lounge is open to passengers traveling in first, as well as Diamond Marco Polo Club members and Emerald oneworld members. Opening hours are from 5:30 a.m. until the last flight takes off.
