Changi Airport Welcomes Lufthansa A380

Changi Airport’s love affair with the superjumbo A380 is only getting stronger. This week it welcomed to Singapore Lufthansa’s inaugural A380 flight from Frankfurt. In addition to Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney, Melbourne, London, Los Angeles, Paris, and Zurich are also connected to Singapore via the A380.

Changi Airport is the world’s busiest multicarrier hub for the A380. In 2007 it became the first to handle the superjumbo when Singapore Airlines commenced A380 operations with an inaugural flight to Sydney.

The new daily flight leaves Changi Airport at 23:55 and arrives in Frankfurt at 05:55. In the other direction, it departs Frankfurt at 22:05 and lands in Singapore at 16:55.

To celebrate, Changi is hosting a Germanfest until November 13. Visitors can try traditional German games like pretzel-throwing and “Slide the Beer.”
