Ease through airports and onto flights with Emirates’ new mobile application, Journey Manager, developed in collaboration with Samsung and Etisalat. The program operates on Samsung’s recently launched Note 4 and allows airport staff to monitor passenger needs through real-time data shared on the application. With the application, Emirates staff members can scan boarding passes offering the latest gate assignments, departure times, and steer passengers from potential areas of congestion. The app is currently being used in transfer areas to aide passengers in moving quickly onward to connecting flights. The technology allows Emirates airport staff greater operational awareness so that they can better help those who have missed flights by simply scanning the boarding pass to determine alternative flight arrangements. Emirates will continue to roll out Journey Manager among its 2,400-strong airport staff with the vision of making it accessible at all customer touch points, including check-in, re-booking flights, and requests for seat change.
