Etihad Airways now flies daily to the Chinese city of Chengdu, the unofficial capital of giant pandas. The route first launched in December 2011, but consistent double-digit growth in passenger volume has led the airline to up frequency from fives times per week to daily departures. It is the third city to be served by Etihad in China following service to Shanghai and Beijing. The flights are operated with a two-class Airbus A330-200 with 22 business seats and 240 economy seats. Flight EY818 will fly from Abu Dhabi at 8:25 a.m., arriving in Chengdu at 8:05 p.m. Flight EY 811 will depart Chengdu at 9:20 p.m. and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 12:40 a.m. the next day.
