Etihad Airways’ newest route connects Abu Dhabi to Ho Chi Minh City and is the first service to ever link the two cities by commercial flight. The airline launched its inaugural flight on October 2, and the daily service will create a passenger capacity of roughly 3,700 new seats a week. An Airbus A330-200 aircraft services the route with 262 total seats. The plane is configured with a Pearl Business Class cabin, voted one of the world’s best business classes by Skytrax, which can seat 22 patrons. The route services priority destinations for both business and leisure travelers from Vietnam, the Middle East, and Europe. Travelers from Vietnam now have a non-stop connection to Etihad’s global airline hub in Abu Dhabi. Said Etihad Airways president James Hogan, “From an inbound perspective, we are now well-positioned to offer travelers from the Middle East and Europe the convenience of non-stop or one-stop flights to Vietnam, which is becoming one of the world’s most popular holiday travel destinations.”
