Just because you’re flying doesn’t mean you need to miss out on the action of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Etihad Airways is broadcasting the matches live on all long-haul flights during the month-long tournament by transmitting all games to the airline’s fleet using interactive Panasonic E-box entertainment systems. The systems are installed in every seat, in every cabin, across Etihad’s three classes of service. Said Peter Baumgartner, Etihad’s chief commercial officer, “The FIFA World Cup is the biggest and most exciting sporting event in the world and I’m delighted that all of our guests will be able to watch every match while they fly with us on their long-haul business or holiday flights.” The World Cup kicked off June 12 in Rio de Janeiro and will conclude Sunday, July 13.
