Lufthansa Focuses on Indonesia

Lufthansa Group, which consists of Lufthansa, SWISS, and Austrian airlines, said it would focus on expanding services in Indonesia. Leandro Tonidandel, Lufthansa’s country manager for Indonesia, said that the group would partner with regional carriers Garuda Indonesia, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Valuair, and Silk Air to transport travelers to Lufthansa’s hubs in Bangkok or Singapore before they continued on to Europe, and travelers will have to transit through Frankfurt if they are going past Germany. But despite the multiple legs, Tonidandel said travelers will able to book their entire trip on the Lufthansa Group website and will only need one ticket. He added that the most popular destinations for the Indonesian market are the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland.
