Malaysia Airlines announced it will add flights to Dubai; Kochi, India; and Darwin, Australian Northern Territories, in the upcoming months.

First up, the national flag carrier said it would restart daily service to Dubai on August 5, followed by daily trips to Kochi on September 1, and five times weekly service to Darwin on November 1.

The Darwin flight was originally closed in 2002 but the airline said it has decided to return to northern Australia because of interest from passengers especially from the United Kingdom. Malaysia Airlines flies from London’s Heathrow Airport to Kuala Kumpur twice daily via an Airbus A380 aircraft then passengers can continue on to Darwin on a 160-seat, including 16 in business class, Boeing 737-800.

To celebrate the renewed route, Malaysia Airlines is offering special rates on roundtrip tickets from Heathrow. Passengers can enjoy discounted seats from US$1,212 if traveling during the periods of November 1 to December 5, 2013, December 24, 2013 to March 21, 2014, or April 16 to June 15, 2014, and book tickets before July 31, 2013.
