Indonesia’s low-cost carrier Mandala Airlines, which resumed service on April 5 after being grounded last year due to debt problems, will launch a daily Medan-Singapore service on April 20. Reservations can be made through the website of Tiger Airways, which is now one of Mandala’s investors. From Medan the airline is offering one-way sale fares of about US$40 to Singapore, and $25 on the way back. As of this writing bookings that start on the Mandala website also go through the Tiger Airways booking system, which would appear to be an advantage for the airline as it scratches its way back.
