Philippine Airlines (PAL) has unveiled its latest Airbus A330-300 wide-body jet replete with an all-new business-class cabin. The business-class cabin now features a layered seat layout with a slight overlap in armrest and footrest for easier access for the window-seat passenger. This configuration allows seats to recline into a lie-flat bed. The airline has also removed all seat-back monitors in favor of portable in-flight electronic devices that use Wi-Fi to access entertainment channels. Business-class passengers without compatible devices can use PAL’s for free while passengers in economy can rent a device. Using the PAL iN AiR network, passengers can access in-flight entertainment for free—surfing or streaming via the network comes at an additional charge. The new plane accommodates 368 passengers with 18 in business, 27 in premium economy, and 323 in economy. The airline will operate the aircraft on flights between Manila and Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Tokyo Haneda, Nagoya, and Seoul later this year.
