Airline lounges across Australia will undergo luxe renovations as the Accor group begins managing the Qantas Club and Qantas domestic business lounges. The Accor group’s portfolio spans the Sofitel, Pullman, and Mercure hotels and their partnership with Qantas already includes premium international lounges in Sydney, Melbourne, and Singapore.

The joint announcement comes at an increasingly competitive time for premium airline services as brands attempt to distinguish themselves with exclusive benefits. Accor will take over lounges for the airline in Melbourne starting from November, while Sydney and Brisbane lounges will undergo management changes early next year.

Qantas has also announced that Sydney Qantas Club members will enjoy a new trial of pop-up dining events. Starting September 12, the Qantas Club will host Bert’s Pies by Merivale and their signature meat pies.

If the pilot is successful with Bert’s Pies, other Qantas lounges in Australia will enjoy the pop-up dining concept.
