Beginning October 26 Qatar Airways will fly nonstop daily between Doha and Phuket. The flight was previously linked with a service through Kuala Lumpur. An Airbus A330 in a two-class configuration will operate the route with 24 seats in business class and 236 seats in economy. Flight QR840 will depart Doha at 7:00 a.m. and arrive in Phuket at 5:40 p.m. daily. From Phuket, QR841 will depart at 7:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays or 7:05 p.m. the rest of the week. The flight will arrive in Doha at 10:25 p.m. and 10:50 p.m. respectively. Qatar also serves the Thai capital of Bangkok and will increase service to four-times-daily from December 16. Doha is also the site of the world’s newest aviation hub with the launch of the state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport.
