The recently unveiled Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge at Sydney Airport’s international terminal aims to make travelers more comfortable with a new “home away from home” concept. Under the direction of Singaporean firm Ong & Ong, the lounge’s layout was designed to exude a residential feel with a cozy living room space, more secluded sections ideal for resting, shower suites, “productivity pods,” and a kitchen area serving a variety of beverages and hot and cold buffets featuring Singaporean favorites like laksa and mie siam. There are separate lounges for first and business classes, but both have sweeping views of the tarmac and Botany Bay. The lounge is the first to be unveiled in the airline’s five-year plan to refresh 15 SilverKris Lounges around the world.
