Having trouble choosing your next business class cabin? Skytrax’s annual World Airline Awards makes the choosing easy. Based on a survey of air passengers spanning 160 countries with over 18 million respondents, 10 business class cabins were selected via the largest airline survey in the world.

The top 10 business classes of 2013 show a significant shift from the 2012 list, with Cathay Pacific falling from the top spot to the fourth position. Qatar Airways now holds the title of best business class in the world.

“These awards are highly rewarding as they are judiciously voted by passengers, a true account of the overall experience felt by customers who have travelled with the airline,” said Mr Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways on Skytrax’s website. “A notable highlight is that these accolades reflect every touch point for our premium and economy class passengers through our ground service and inflight experience.”

Skytrax conducted the 2013 survey using an online questionnaire about passenger experiences with airlines on the ground, onboard, and during a 10-month travel period. 40 performance indicators were used to calculate the list including check-in, boarding, onboard seat comfort, cabin cleanliness, food, beverages, inflight entertainment and staff service. The survey covered more than 200 airlines.

1 Qatar Airways
2 Oman Air
3 Singapore Airlines
4 Cathay Pacific Airways
5 Etihad Airways
6 Swiss International Air Lines
7 Qantas Airways
8 Hainan Airlines
9 Emirates
10 Turkish Airlines
