In line with the grape harvest season, Air France has unveiled its latest wine and spirits offering allowingÂ La PremieÌre and business-classÂ patrons to experience one of the best selections in the sky. Paolo Basso, voted world’s best sommelier in 2013, has personally overseen the selection, along withÂ Bettane and Desseauve, authors of the French Wine Guide. The selection is specially tailored to complement the airplane’s conditions, with note to cabin pressure and air conditioning when selecting varietals.Â The La PremieÌre cabin can enjoy famousÂ champagnes, bordeauxs, and burgundys along withÂ Krug Grande CuveÌe or Saint-Emilion 1er Grand Cru ClasseÌ Chateau Beau-Sejour BeÌcot 2008.Â In business, new wines areÂ highlightedÂ and Paolo Bassoâs favorite wines, such as MeÌdoc ChaÌteau Rollan de By 2009. In economy and premium economy, patrons can sip champagne during the aperitif and fine wines duringÂ the meal. Air France boasts that 1.5 million bottles of wine and 800,000 bottles of champagne are served on-board annually.
