Emirates’ A380 to serve Hamburg route

Come October 29, Emirates will mark the start of regular A380 operations into Hamburg by deploying the aircraft on the existing morning service with flights EK059 and EK060. Starting October 30, the A380s will be used for flight EK061, which is scheduled to depart from Dubai at 3 p.m. and arrive in Hamburg at 7:05 p.m.; as well as EK062, which leaves the German city at 9 p.m. and returns to Dubai at 6:20 a.m. the following day. After the inaugural service, flights EK059 and EK060 will continue to be flown by Emirates’ B777-300ER aircraft.

Qatar Airways launches new inflight dining menus 

Qatar Airways has unveiled new inflight dining menus for its first-class and business-class passengers, which will debut on the carrier’s European routes. The airline aims to “put a greater focus on featuring regional influences within the menu design process”, will be based on route destinations. For instance, passengers can expect to enjoy porcini and truffle risotto on Italian sectors, although Arabic dishes like biryani and flame-grilled meats will be available “on most routes.” Those flying first class will now be able to enjoy an “enhanced caviar service,” which features Balik-style salmon showcased on a bespoke crystal plate.

Hainan Airlines starts flights to Vancouver 

Hainan Airlines has started flights between Shenzhen and Vancouver via Tianjin, which is its third route to Canada. Operated by a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, instead of its previously announced Airbus A330-300, the twice-weekly flights will be Tianjin’s first North American route. The airline also connects Beijing with Toronto and Calgary.
