British Airways this week added Abu Dhabi, Muscat, and Austin to the list of destinations it will be servicing with its new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner fleet. The airline will replace the B777-200 aircraft currently in use for Abu Dhabi and Muscat starting November 5, while Dreamliner flights for the Austin route will begin in February 2016. Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, and San Jose are other destinations for which the airline has also allocated the new aircraft, with the Delhi flights scheduled to commence the soonest, on October 25.
The new aircraft will come equipped with an all-new first class cabin, designed with an elegant combination of black and gold that will accommodate just eight premium passengers. Aside from having new storage areas built into each seat, flyers will be able to have better control of their comfort throughout the flight, with lighting, headrest, and seat settings being manageable using a smart “jog dial”. Passengers can also enjoy a better in-flight entertainment facility on board, as they are provided a handset in addition to the 23-inch screen on which they can also enjoy entertainment programs.
