Paying tribute to British pop icon David Bowie, who passed away earlier this month, British Airways has selected a series of special programs to be launched along with its range of in-flight entertainment offerings as an ode to the musical legend. Starting January, the carrier will be releasing David Bowie: Five Years in the Making of an Icon, a TV documentary on the artist that takes an intimate peek into the five key years of Bowie’s carrier, which passengers can watch on select long-haul flights. Following the documentary, starting April 1 passengers will also be able to enjoy an array of audio programs dedicated to the Starman, which includes a two-hour David Bowie “in-concert” recording from 1996, The Best of Bowie (1969-1974) documentary, a David Bowie at the Beeb documentary, and an exclusive recording from InStudio.Net which features Bowie in conversation with DJ Redbeard about his career from 1969 to 1973. As for May, British Airways will be adding other audio options like Profile: David Bowie, while The David Bowie Story, a 1993 interview filled with back stories of some of his well-known songs, will also be available for fliers to listen.
