Cathay Pacific will soon be adding an additional flight to its Adelaide–Hong Kong route, the airline’s fifth weekly service between the two destinations. The new flight will commence on the first week of December, flying out of Adelaide every Thursday at 7:45 a.m. to reach Hong Kong at 2:00 p.m. The flight, which brings Cathay’s weekly seats for the route to 2,500, follows a previous decision to cut the carrier’s services to Adelaide from daily to four times a week.
“Since we introduced our new schedule in early April last year, which provides better connections particularly to the UK and Chinese destinations, we have seen demand surge,” said Nelson Chin, Cathay Pacific general manager Southwest Pacific. “Our flights have been very popular and we have seen increased numbers of tourists into Adelaide from mainland China, as well as South Australians taking advantage of the fast connections to China, Asia, London, and North America via Hong Kong.
