Ahead of the delivery of its new Airbus A350-900 XWB in April, Cathay Pacific this week announced the regional routes it will be serving with the new aircraft’s initial run prior to assigning it for long-haul flights later this year. As part of a crew familiarization phase, the carrier’s new jets will be scheduled to fly a daily Hong Kong-Manila and Hong Kong-Taipei Taoyuan route starting May 1. In addition to these routes, the airline will also be flying its A350 from Hong Kong to Ho Chi Minh City every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday starting July 1 and from Hong Kong to Singapore every Sunday starting July 3. While schedules are subject to change, the flights can be expected to run for a few months, before being deployed to serve Cathay’s Hong Kong-London Gatwick operation starting September 2.
