A single replacement of one of its aircraft flying between Dubai and Milan results in Emirates upping its passenger capacity on the route by 38 percent. Currently, the carrier operates a mix of 777-300 and 777-300ER aircraft on three daily roundtrip flights between the cities, but it has swapped one for an A380 as of December 1, marking the first permanent A380 service to Milan Malpensa Airport. In part, the change was made in anticipation of the Milan Expo 2015 beginning in May and the increased number of travelers the city is expected to receive thereafter.
