Since Emirates launched service from its Dubai hub to Russia’s capital city of Moscow in 2003, the route has seen a steady increase in customer demand. In December 2012, the airline deployed an Airbus A380 on the double daily route to Moscow. The single A380 previously operated in tandem with a Boeing 777, but Emirates has announced that beginning August 1 the route will be operated solely with A380 service increasing seat capacity by 15 percent. The Emirates’ A380 is the airline’s premier plane with a three class seating configuration including First Class showers and an on-board lounge for First and Business Class patrons. Across its two decks 399 seats will be available in Economy Class, 76 lie-flat seats in Business Class, and 14 First Class private suites. The upgraded A380 service leaves Dubai at 9:35 a.m., arriving in Moscow at 2:45 p.m. The return flight leaves Moscow at 5:55 p.m. and lands in Dubai at 10:55 p.m. Moscow will become the eighth city to be served exclusively with A380 service by Emirates including Auckland, London Heathrow, Toronto, Seoul, Munich, Barcelona and Los Angeles.
