Hainan Airlines, the fourth largest in China, will start direct flights from Beijing to Bali on January 15. The flight will be serviced three times weekly on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday via a Boeing 767-300ER, which can carry 223 passengers. The flight duration is seven-and-a-half hours. The airline said it has partnered with Caissa tour group and it is expected that the route will bring in an estimated 30,000 mainland Chinese tourists annually. According to the National Statistics Bureau of China, each tourist is estimated to spend an average of US$3,000 and with the addition of this new route, it is predicted that Chinese tourists will spend US$90 million in Indonesia annually. Hainan Airlines is based in Haikou, Hainan and flies to 130 destinations.
