The more than five million passengers who pass through Macau International Airport annually can now add an extra level of comfort to their travels with the newly opened Plaza Premium Lounge. Unlike carrier or alliance lounges, Plaza’s are available to travelers of all seating classes, airlines, and membership programs. For prices based on time spent in the lounge (about US$50 for two hours, $75 for five), fliers can enjoy the 400-square-meter space designed by Hong Kong–based firm Kinney Chan & Associates and all of the amenities therein: 135 cushy seats, high-speed Wi-Fi, hot meals and a salad bar, draught beer and fresh coffee. For those looking for more privacy, two VIP rooms are available upon request, equipped with sound-proof walls and separate restrooms. Located on the Mezzanine Level above gates four and five, the Plaza Premium is the airport’s only independent lounge—a new dimension to the gambling mecca’s port-of-entry.
