These days, airports are upping the ante with all sorts of amenities to make one’s aviation experience more enjoyable than ever.

Case in point? A planned swimming pool at Dominican Republic’s Punta Cana airport, which serves as the gateway to a strip of beachfront resorts and has direct flights to New York via JetBlue, United and Delta.

Currently under construction, the pool is designed by local architect Antonio Segundo Imbert to overlook an airstrip and parked planes. It is slated to open in December as part of a VIP lounge.

Those lucky enough to take a dip in the pool include First- and Business-class passengers, as well as certain homeowners, club members, and elite traveler pass-holders.

For others, a swim in this vacation-worthy pool comes at a price. Entrance starts at $125 per person for the day and drops to $100 each for groups of three and above.
