A few months after launching its brand new lounge at the Hong Kong International Airport, SkyTeam has unveiled the opening of its new and first space in the Gulf region, located at Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 1. Partnering with Brandimage, the airline alliance has come up with a relaxing and soothing environment for passengers to rest in between flight using materials such as natural oak wood, light beige leather, and elegant grey fabrics with a white-and-green colors. SkyTeam’s signature green “living wall” is also present at the new lounge to bring a fresh touch, while a Digital Art Gallery features works from curated artists across the 690 square meter lounge.

When it comes to food and beverages, there are hot and cold snacks available from a buffet bar and a fully-stocked rinks bar to choose from. There are also high-speed Wi-Fi connection, a VIP room, a children’s area and a dedicated TV room to cater to the different needs of passengers. MAtching Dubai’s all-day departures, the space will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will welcome Elite Plus, Business Class, and First Class passengers from SkyTeam airlines.

“Shared facilities like our new Dubai lounge are a tangible example of how SkyTeam airlines can offer a greatly enhanced airport experience to their customers through synergies,” said Perry Cantarutti, SkyTeam CEO and managing director. “Since we opened our first lounge in 2009 at London Heathrow, we have seen their value increase because they are popular with our customers while delivering benefits to our members’ businesses. Dubai is a rapidly emerging global aviation hub and the busiest airport in the world for international passengers, so this was a natural location for our latest lounge to meet the expectations of our premium passengers. We have plans to open more shared lounges across our network starting with Beijing later this year.”
