Scuba divers, rejoice, for gone are the days of carrying around a traditional diver’s book with the arrival of a new mobile app tailored specifically for divers to share their underwater adventures. Called DivePlanit, the app allows users to log the details of their dive, add up to 10 pictures for each post, and share them with their dive buddies who are on the app or to other social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. With a built-in directory of dive locations, DivePlanit makes it easy to map places you’ve been to and discover new diving sites through other users’ tagged location on their posts. Even more fun is the fish ID feature, which lists different fish families with images to go with them so that users can easily identify the species they may have come across during one of their diving sessions and add them to their digital dive long. The app is available for download in the App Store.
