US actress Betty White is the latest star of Air New Zealandâ€™s quirky safety videos. Her four-minute â€śSafety Old School Styleâ€ť video demonstrates emergency procedures for an Airbus A320 aircraft. Best known for her roles on â€śThe Golden Girlsâ€ť and â€śThe Mary Tyler Moore Show,â€ť White is joined in the safety briefing by â€śLove Boatâ€ť actor Gavin MacLeod.
“As a small airline at the bottom of the world, we have to think outside the square when it comes to driving brand awareness and conveying important safety messages to our millions of customers,” said Jodi Williams,Â Air New Zealand’s head of global brand development, in a statement about the airlineâ€™s trademark safety videos.
Previous clips have featured survival expert Bear Grylls, fitness personality Richard Simmons, and a â€śHobbitâ€ť-themed video. Collectively, the airlines safety videos have been seen more than 25 million times online.
