Malaysian budget carrier AirAsia has launched a new loyalty program on Nov. 14. Named BIG, the global scheme lets passengers earn BIGGIES (points) with every transaction made using the AirAsia BIG Card. The points are then redeemable against AirAsia flights and shopping deals with associated partners.

The BIG card doubles as a prepaid payment card that can be used at all VISA accepted merchants and BIG Partners worldwide, including AirAsia’s Tune Hotel chain, Avis, Citibank, and Hertz, to name a few.

Members earn one BIGGIE for every US$1.30 spent on an AirAsia flight, one BIGGIE for every US$.075 spent on an AirAsia flight booked with an add-on, such as a pre-booked meal, and one BIGGIE for every US$0.32 spent on a Premium Seat ticket.

You can start your BIG experience by signing up at tune2big.com. Be aware, however, that the deal is not free. The joining fee is US$3.40, and there is an annual fee of either US$1.70 or 500 BIGGIES if a member doesn’t use the card at least six times per year.
