AirAsia Debuts Two New Routes

AirAsia has launched two international routes from Sarawak in Eastern Malaysia, with flights from Bintulu to Singapore and Kuching to Shenzhen. The low-cost carrier now flies to three destinations from Bintulu, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Kuching with a total of 39 weekly flights one way.

China Airlines Partners Air France

Starting April 16, 2018, China Airlines will codeshare with Air France on three weekly nonstop Paris flights. This move also represents the airline’s expansion into the European market, following the launch of its nonstop flights to London in December.

An ongoing promotion on China Airlines’ site shows Taipei-Paris economy class return tickets starting from US$625 (plus tax).

2017: The Safest Year in Aviation History

Here’s a piece of good news for travelers everywhereaccording to Dutch aviation consulting firm To70, the global aviation industry had its safest year on record in 2017 with zero commercial passenger jet fatalities. In spite of this, the year saw 111 nonfatal accidents. “Whilst the safety levels of modern civil passenger airplanes remain high, the extraordinarily low accident rate this year must be seen as a case of good fortune”, the company said in its report.
