Following four long decades of outstanding hospitality and service in the soulful capital of the Philippines, The Peninsula Manila will be celebrating its Ruby anniversary on September 14 this year. The pioneering hotel group has selected a raft of events and experiences in honor of its legacy.
1. Ruby Revelry Room Package
Starting from June through September 30, nightly stays will be met with a raffle ticket to win the ultimate Peninsula experience, complete with an overnight stay at The Peninsula Suite and a host of other complimentary add-ons. Guests will also be gifted with a ruby pendant designed by Jul B. Dizon Jewelry. Starting at US$225, the package is inclusive of daily breakfast for two at the hotel’s Escolta and dining credit at The Lobby.
2. 1,976 In Escolta
The year 1976 was a momentous one, with the Philippines hosting its first International Monetary Fund-World Bank Conference, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak establishing Apple Computer Company, the US celebrating its bicentennial year and The Peninsula Manila welcoming its first visitor, which is why Escolta is celebrating by offering an indulgent lunch and dinner buffet for only P1,976 nett (US$100). The offer is valid for the entire month of June.
3. The Peninsula Academy
In this program, guests will be taken on a helicopter ride to tour one of the largest private mango farms in the Philippines or go on an alternative Manila art tour and learn about Philippine’s contemporary street art.
4. Peninsula Wedding Fair
The hotel will be hosting a wedding fair on June 11 that will showcase select pieces from Bvlgari Weddings as well as the best and most exclusive purveyors of wedding cakes, flowers, bridal gowns, formal wear, perfumes, cosmetics, registries, limousines and honeymoons.
“We are proud of the reputation we have built as an exceptional wedding venue these past 40 years,” says Mark Choon, General Manager of The Peninsula Manila, “as well as probably having the most beautiful wedding fair in the Philippines. If you are planning a wedding, this will be the perfect place for discovering inspirational subjects, creative designs and presentations.”
5. The Ang Kiukok Collection
An art exhibition displaying the works of Filipino-Chinese painter Ang Kiukok will occur throughout an entire year beginning September 2016. Known as the master of figurative expressionism in contemporary Philippine art, 20 of his tempera works will grace the hotel’s property to share the important pieces of Philippine’s cultural history to generations of guests all over the world.
Aside from a handful of other additional experiences and culinary deals and events, the celebration will also extend beyond its festivities by giving back to the community through its fundraising efforts for the rehabilitation of the facilities of the Breast Care Center Annex, which will be inaugurated in October 2016.
