Singapore’s Changi Airport has been voted Skytrax’s World Best Airport by air travelers, shortly after it led the airport and airline category rankings on DestinAsian’s very own Readers’ Choice Awards 2018.

On Wednesday, Mr Lee Seow Hiang, CEO of Changi Airport Group, received the Skytrax World’s Best Airport Award from Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted at the Passenger Terminal Expo in Stockholm, Sweden on Wednesday, marking the first time in the awards’ history that an airport has won this title for six consecutive years.

Despite having a string of accolades under its name, the airport isn’t one to rest on its laurels, and is constantly unveiling innovations like the recently opened Changi Terminal 4.

The new terminal made its debut with the latest cutting-edge technology—think fully automated check-in and computerized bag-drop counters—and plenty of reasons for travelers to linger before their flights.

In addition, Changi Airport was the repeat winner of the award for the Best Airport Leisure Amenities.
