Bask in the festivities with popular Disney characters, a pop-up Christmas carnival, and more.
If you’re spending a tropical Christmas in Singapore, don’t miss out on this special festive light-up featuring popular Disney characters.
From November 11, 2018 to January 1, 2019, Orchard Road will feature a 2.88-kilometer Christmas light-up spanning Tanglin Mall to Plaza Singapura. Four themed zones will be located within the iconic shopping belt, namely Disney Princess, Mickey Mouse and Friends, Frozen, and Toy Story.
Visitors can expect plenty of photo opportunities throughout the street, including a sparkly arch towering above the Orchard Road-Paterson Road junction, trailed by fairy lights lining the streets, as well as trees illuminated with 3D Mickey standees.
Look out for Disney princesses such as Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Woody from Pixar’s Toy Story, and Mickey Mouse himself at the Christmas street light-up, which is a collaboration between the Orchard Road Business Association (Orba) and the Walt Disney Company South-east Asia.
Mr Mark Shaw, chairman of Orba, said: “We hope this year’s brilliant display of many well-loved Disney characters will enchant the young and young-at-heart visiting Orchard Road.”
The festive celebrations will also see the return of the Great Christmas Village outside of Ngee Ann City. Running from November 15 to December 26, the pop-up Christmas carnival will feature a good village, a craft beer bar, amusement park rides, and more. Little ones can hang out at the Santa House, where they can enjoy arts and crafts, alongside meet-and-greet sessions with Santa Claus.
While Singapore doesn’t have its own Disneyland yet, this festive light-up looks set to delight the young and the young-at-heart.
