Diners can expect to feast on themed dishes, as well as shop exclusive movie merchandise.
The bustling city of Singapore is no stranger to themed cafes, being home to a whole bunch of popular character cafes—from Hello Kitty to Gudetama, and even DC Comics.
From November 23, 2017 to January 31, 2018, it will welcome the first Minions Café outside of Japan.
For the clueless, Minions are a breed of fictional, yellow creatures made popular thanks to their irresistibly adorable appearances in Pixar’s Despicable Me animated movie series.
Earlier this year, the Minions Café popped up at five locations in Japan, namely Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Sapporo, and Fukuoka, to celebrate the premiere of the Despicable Me 3 movie.
The Singapore leg of this pop-up café will open on the third floor of the Orchard Central Mall, with Minion mascots gracing its grand opening.
Diners can expect 14 menu items, all inspired by the iconic movie characters, as well as exclusive original goods that can be purchased alongside official movie merchandise.
When the café launched in Japan a couple of months back, popular menu items included the Minions Great Escape Cream Stew, S’more & Minions Ice Cream, Despicable Me Curry, Minions Café Purin (mango pudding), and Minion Jelly Sodas.
The pop-up Minions Cafe in Singapore and Japan are operated by Japanese cafe, THE GUEST café&diner, which collaborates with a different popular character every two to three months.
