The new service marks the airline’s third Canadian destination, following Toronto and Calgary.
This marks the third Canadian destination to its network, following the airline’s Toronto-Beijing and Calgary-Beijing routes.
Unlike its current non-stop flights to Toronto and Calgary, the twice-weekly Vancouver flights will stop over in Tianjin.
The outbound flight from Shenzhen will depart in the morning, before arriving in Vancouver that morning (local time), while the return leg from Vancouver departs before midday and lands in Shenzhen the following afternoon (local time).
Hainan Airlines vice president Jichun Liu said: “Following our Toronto-Beijing and Calgary-Beijing routes, this new Vancouver service demonstrates Hainan Airlines’ confidence in the China-Canada civil aviation market.”
