Does life imitate art or is it the other way around? In the case of this new rentable Airbnb space, it’s the latter that rings true as art enthusiasts now have the chance to stay in a space re-created down to its last detail from one of Vincent van Gogh’s most famous paintings, The Bedroom, which depictsÂ the Dutch post-Impressionist’s bedroom in Arles, France.
Put togetherÂ by the Art Institute of Chicago to promote its “Van Gogh’s Bedrooms”Â exhibition, which willÂ turn the spotlight onÂ all three version of the painting created by van Gogh in 1988 and 1889,Â the museum has brought to life one version of the his worksÂ in the city’s River North neighborhood, with chairs, a bed, paintings on the wall, and green streaks on the wooden floors to match. The nightly rate itself is a steal at just US$10, but given the high demand, the museum will only be taking bookings on dates announced on its social media accounts.
If seeing all threeÂ paintings together in a single showcaseÂ is good enough for you, the exhibitionÂ runs from February 14 through May 10.
