Singapore Airlines passengers flying to Amsterdam in April next year will be the first to get the full experience of the airline’s new A350 aircraft. The airline announced this week that the European city will be the launch destination for its new fleet, although an exact date for the inaugural flight has yet to be announced. Delivery for the new aircraft is expected to begin by January 2016, after which they will be temporarily placed to serve the carrier’s Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur routes as part of a crew training phase prior to the official launch. The aircraft will feature Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class cabins, but it has yet to release the exact number of seats.
“We are very much looking forward to the arrival of the new A350s which will be fitted with our newest-generation cabin products, providing more comfort to our customers,” senior vice president marketing planning Lee Wen Fen said. “This includes new Business Class, Premium Economy Class and Economy Class seats, and the world’s most advanced in-flight entertainment system. Our investment in the A350s is in line with Singapore Airlines’ longstanding commitment to operate a young and modern fleet. The highly efficient new aircraft will offer us the potential to open new routes, enhancing our network and further strengthening the Singapore hub.”
