A week-long rum tour will introduce guests to the region’s best distilleries and let them do good while at it.
You’d want to take a swig of this: CheapCaribbean has announced a week-long rum tour to satisfy your inner Jack Sparrow.
Guests will be able to experience storied rum makers along the way, via educational and experiential tours such the History Rum Tour at Clay Villa Plantation and the Full Signature Rum Tour at Mount Gay Rum Distillery.
For the uninitiated, the majority of the world’s rum production occurs in the Caribbean and Latin America. Light rums are commonly used in cocktails, while dark and golden rums are typically consumed straight or neat, on the rocks, or used for cooking.
As guests sip their tipple of choice, they’ll be able to do good by donating to aid disaster-affected Caribbean countries. 20 percent of the proceeds from the rum tour will go towards hurricane relief efforts with Tourism Cares, a nonprofit organization working to help these countries.
Although the tour departs only in 2018, reservation runs from now until November 30. For a whopping price of $5000, guests can enjoy a six day rum adventure with airfare, tours, transportation, and hotels all included.
