It’s Time to Score Tickets to Yayoi Kusama’s Tokyo Museum

You might think that she should be slowing down by now, but Yayoi Kusama (yes, the avant-garde artist known for her polka-dotted pieces) will soon be opening her own museum in Shinjuku.

We heard that tickets are almost sold out for the museum’s opening day, which happens to be on October 1. Imagine five floors of Kusama’s works one after another, from monochromes to dotted pumpkins. The place promises to showcase her creations from the initial stage of her career up to present.

According to a press statement, the museum aims to be a “welcoming, educational, and inspiring space” for art lovers. The museum will open with the exhibition “Creation is a Solitary Pursuit, Love is What Brings You Closer to Art” which will showcase her latest painting series My Eternal Soul.
