From December 22, guests at W Taipei (10 Zhongxiao East Rd. Sec. 5, Xinyi; 886-2/7703-8888; wtaipei.com) will be able to ice skate at the hotel’s Wet bar with the bright lights of Xinyi District in the background, and the Taipei 101 tower in the distance. Inspired by the success of its American cousins in Los Angeles and New York, W Taipei will be the first Asian hotel in the W fold to open Chill, which will see its 2000-square-meter swimming pool frozen over.
W Taipei, which opened on Valentine’s Day, 2011, is promoting the ice rink with a “Chill in the Room” package priced from US$360—available from December 22 until January 20, 2013. The package is for a Wonderful room, two entries to Chill, two wintery cocktails, and breakfast for two at the Kitchen Table restaurant.
