Copenhagen’s Noma has earned the top achievement at the 2014 San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards. The restaurant, headed by chef Rene Redzepi, previously earned the distinction in 2010 and following the announcement reportedly received enough online reservations to fill its 45 seats for a decade—though the venue only takes reservations a few weeks in advance. Noma dethroned last year’s winner, El Celler de Can Roca of Girona, Spain, while Osteria Francescana of Modena, Italy, maintained its number three position. The list also marked a bumper crop of winners from the 2014 list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants including Nahm of Bangkok coming in at 13, followed by Narisawa of Tokyo at 14. The winner of Best Restaurant in North America went to Eleven Madison Park of New York, taking fourth place on the list, while Attica of Melbourne took honors for the Best Restaurant in Australasia and the 32 spot.
