With just nine villas set over 5000 square meters, One Eleven (3 Pangkung Sari, 62-361/731-343; 111resorts.com) is a welcome addition to Seminyak. On arrival, guests are taken to their villa by golf buggy on a path that runs parallel to a wall fashioned from thousands of pot plants. It is clear that privacy is the watchword here—each of the villas houses its own spa gazebo and 14-meter-long swimming pool, while no stone has been left unturned in ensuring quality design—from the armchairs by Karma Living to the lumbar-friendly sun loungers, which were designed by Yos and Leonard Theosabrata of Accupuncto, a winner of the Red Dot design award. Other features include Yamaha Restio iPod docks, Nespresso machines, and custom-made toiletries by Republic of Soap. The One Eleven resident chef, who cut his teeth at an Alain Ducasse restaurant in Doha, serves “simple, elegant, and modern,” fare in the privacy of guests’ villas, while upstairs chef Shiro-San showcases the flavors of Osaka in the hotel’s sushi bar, Shiro.
