While Christmas markets may be best known as a German tradition, the concept has garnered a global following with different locales giving their own flavor to the event. This year the Park Hyatt Tokyo (3-7-1-2 Nishi Shinjuku, Shinjuku-Ku; 81-3/5322-1234) will be hosting its own festive bazaar with a twist: the market will sell exclusively organic goods in collaboration with the NPO Organic Association, a group that promotes ecologically friendly lifestyles and organic goods. On December 14 and 15, 2013 the hotel’s gallery will be transformed into an outlet for food items, wines, skincare, and lifestyle products. The Delicatessen will host a special edition of its Grape Grazing menu, a selection of organic wines paired with executive chef Thomas Angerer’s dinner selection. For those who would rather skip the shopping and cozy up with a cup of tipple, the hotel is also offering seasonal drinks starting from US$8 including the South American-inspired Submarino, taking its name from the chocolate that sinks into a milky mix. Other drinks include the Hot Toddy, mulled wine, cider, and hot chocolate.
