Hotel of the Week: Aerotel Airport Transit Hotel

This 70-room accommodation in Singapore’s Changi Airport offers well-appointed sleeping quarters, a modestly sized pool with a bar, Jacuzzi, and a cozy workout area—all in all, a comfortable, stylish place to catch up on your sleep in between flights.

Rooms: Known as one of the best in the world, Changi is actually a good place to rest—it has sleep lounges in Terminals 1 and 3. But these areas get filled up really fast, and you’ll be left dozing off in a freezing corner along with the rest.

What sets the one-year-old Aerotel apart is that it provides unquestionably chic rooms with quality beds and multi-thread count linens that you’ll really want to snooze in. The S rooms are suitable for only one person, but the 20-square-meter M rooms and the 40-square-meter L rooms are spacious by the city-state’s standards.

M and L, all done in a palette of of earth tones, also have nice views of the nearby Terminal 1’s runway. The L rooms also have small living areas that provide additional space for luggage.

Take note that the rooms do not have wardrobes—but their inviting interiors and hot showers more than make up for that.

High-quality toiletries are available in the bathrooms, where guests can get hot showers.

Things you can do: Who wouldn’t want to hang out in a pool with a drink in hand while waiting for a connecting flight? Be sure to try this because it’s the only transit hotel in Asia to have one. Another place to chill is their hipster lounge, which has free-flowing coffee and a slew of newspapers and magazines to keep you occupied.

Deal alert: From now until December 31, DestinAsian readers can get a complimentary meal if they stay at Aerotel. Book by emailing [email protected] and quote DA_AEROTELSG upon booking. Valid only for S and M rooms.
