Following 16 years as a five-star Nusa Dua mainstay, Nikko Bali Resort and Spa started extensive renovations in 2011, culminating in its rebranding as Grand Nikko Bali. With its grand launch event in July 2013, the hotel re-established its presence and namesake just as a host of resort newcomers popped up along the pristine coastline. Grand Nikko Bali is the first of Nikko’s uber-luxury line of resorts bearing the “Grand” title with at least 300 rooms.
The Grand Nikko Bali underwent renovations in its 389 guest rooms in order to update furnishings and in-room equipment. The hotel also added its Club Lounge for designated guests to enjoy complimentary drinks and tapas around a private pool, as well as a seaside restaurant and new ballroom. Most notable has been the addition of 19 new villas (one bedroom starting from US$650) on the Nikko’s massive property with personal butler service and luxe-Balinese décor.
The villas were designed by Australia-based Ground Kent Architects and have a modern take on the traditional slopping Balinese roofs. Guests have extreme privacy in the walled complexes outfitted with a wading pool, outdoor shower, and a lounge area complete with minibar. Inside, plush whites and cool colors inform the color palette as Balinese statues keep watch on either side of the bathroom. A generous bathtub, double sink, and couple’s rain shower complete the space.
Guests are whisked via golf cart from the lobby to villa and back again. Personal butler service begins at check-in with in-room arrival procedures and checkout. Villas guests receive full access to Club amenities and can enjoy services in-room, from breakfast to beauty treatments. The Grand Nikko Bali also has a two-bedroom villa and a three-bedroom villa.
Tucked away from the bustle of Bali, Grand Nikko Bali has reaffirmed its position as a Nusa Dua sanctuary.
