Similar Indo-Islamic interiors can be found in Nilaya, which has an in-door Jacuzzi located a few steps from the king-sized bed. Lush crimson draperies are the rooms’ unifying theme, as well as generosity of space.

Things you can do: See the Vijaya Vitthala temple, the largest in Hampi and said to be the zenith of Indian temple architecture. Its elephant-led, stone-carved chariot is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Or visit the Lotus Mahal, a two-story symmetrical edifice that has withstood the test of time.
