Above: The works on display at the India Art Summit will include this open-air sculpture by Anish Kapoor
Celebrated Indian sculptor Anish Kapoor once said that “Work grows out of other work, and there are very few eureka moments.” Those involved in the India Art Summit (indiaartsummit.com; August 19–22) may beg to differ. For its second installment at New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan exhibition center, the event has more than tripled in size, and this year can lay claim to being the single largest showcase of Indian art ever. Renowned artists like Anjolie Ela Menon, S. H. Raza, and Jogen Chowdhury will lead the local brigade, alongside contributors representing some 20 international galleries. Don’t miss a stroll through the sculpture park, designed to initiate dialogues on the relationship between art and the environment. –ND
